Tell me what you see / When you stare at me / These lines are blurring / Should I run away? / Or beg to stay? / Baby, I’m still learning Even though I’ve made my mind up / You know you're the one / Who can get inside my head California close my eyes / I'm so scared of falling / And it's the way you look, the way you stop and stare / California don't let go / You're not what I remember / You're deaf and numb to everything I say / And tonight you're gonna throw us all away You promised me so much / And at your touch / My body's aching / Even if we're through / I'd fight for you / While my heart's still breaking And when you find me broken / Don't act so surprised / 'Cause things never stay the same California close my eyes / I'm so scared of losing / And it's the way you look, the way you stop and steal / California let me go / Forget me while I'm sleeping / You're deaf and numb to everything I say / And tonight you're gonna throw us all away California close my eyes / I'm so scared of falling / And it's the way you look, the way you turn my head / California let me go / You're not what I remember / You're deaf and numb to everything I say California close my eyes / I'm so scared of nothing / And it's the way you feel, the way you never cared / California don't let go / You're deaf and numb to everything I say / You're killing me and I like it this way / You're everything but I don't want to stay / And tonight you're gonna throw us all away

I Know 03:14
Hello stranger, where have you been? / See, I think you've got something / Something I've been looking for / I want it back please, you can go What's your name? / I'll tell you how it will be / What's your number? / I’ll tell you where to meet me / It doesn't have to be a scene / Can't you see I’m trying to be friendly I know I’ve been away / What makes you think that you can take what belongs to me / Belongs to me / I know I’ve been away / Now I’m coming back to take what belongs to me / Belongs to me Hello stranger, what have you done / Taking what belongs to someone else / Did you think I couldn’t tell? Try to close my eyes and make me sleep / Stop saying keep calm / Be realistic / Did you think I wouldn't tell? Not everything is written in stone / I'm not going to let this go / Some things can change, believe me / It’s not that strange, but it’s getting that way I know I’ve been away / What makes you think that you can take what belongs to me / Belongs to me / I know I’ve been away / Now I’m coming back to take what belongs to me / Belongs to me Fixers and breakers / Givers and takers / Heroes, destroyers, and cheap money-makers / I’ve known them all / Made me walk, made me crawl / Watch your back, baby, it's your turn to fall Not everything is written in stone / I'm not going to let this go / Some things can change, believe me / It's not too late, but it's getting that way I know I’ve been away / What makes you think that you can take what belongs to me / Belongs to me / I know I’ve been away / Now I’m coming back to take what belongs to me / Belongs to me I want it back / Want it back / Want it back / Give it back

Hey little girl / You've been living so fast / Running away / From things in your past / Don't let it go too far Hey little girl / You've been drinking so hard / Trying to keep up / Trying to hide all your scars / And if you say the word / I'll push away their stares Hey little girl / You've been crying alone / Putting on a brave face / Trying to live on your own / But when the night is done / And you wake up alone / That's when the voices start Why do they all try to get you? / Why do they all put you down? / Don't you ever want one more minute / For your little world to stop spinning around Hey little girl / You lose so much sleep / Working so hard / Making ends meet / And if you let it go / Will it work out on its own? / That's not a chance you'll take Hey little girl / Don't give up on your heart / The things that you change / They changed you from the start / Hey little girl

Countdown 03:49

about

Deer Park Avenue's self-titled release is a raw, high-energy rock and roll journey through the dark side of California. It's about broken dreams, broken promises, false hopes and wasted time, but more than anything about redemption and finding yourself along the way.

Deer Park Avenue live tracked the album with producer Matt Bissonette (Elton John, Rick Springfield, Brian Wilson), going without the use of any autotune or other digital manipulation, making their debut a raw and honest rock album. The album features Matt Bissonette on bass, a drum solo from GRAMMY Award winning drummer Gregg Bissonette on Countdown, Simon Huber on cello on Hey Little Girl and Dark and Stormy Night, guitar solos from Ian Rasmussen on I Know and Under My Skin, and Scott Prusko on backing vocals on These Days.
